CB Radio Range? Help Please? - cb radio range

I have a Cobra 25 Ltd Classic with a small antenna 4 feet. Now, my father gave me a 9-foot whip antenna. What made the difference in the playoffs?

Well, the 4-foot antenna was more likely with an additional loading coil, a 9-foot antenna is closer to one quarter wavelength at this frequency. I have just a quick calculation and quarter wavelength at the center of the band of citizens is about 8.6 meters.

With loading coils, there is usually a loss of the antenna, since the coils are there to "electrically the antenna and an antenna that is designed for the band applications, with a better performance than the associated" extended the additions made so that it works.

If you compare to know the name and model of the satellite, you should be able to make a comparison. Google the model number of antennas and see if it will be given instructions on earnings in the specifications.
